Class of 2021


  1. Graduates will receive up to 6 tickets for the Graduation Walk Ceremony. Students are not permitted to have more than 6 guests. 
  2. No guests will be permitted to attend the Commencement Ceremony. This event is for GRADUATES ONLY. 
  3. Seniors must pre-register their guests using the link below by Thursday, May 13th.
  4. Only registered guests will be permitted to attend the Graduation Walk Ceremony.
  5. Graduates will be randomly assigned a time and location for the Graduation Walk. This information, along with the student's name, will be on the back of the ticket.
  6. Tickets will be distributed the Friday (May 21st) prior to graduation.

1.  The Senior Signs will be displayed beginning on Tuesday, May 18, around the school. 

If seniors had  a senior picture taken by Myerly and Lowe or submitted  a senior picture, the picture will appear on the sign; if there was no senior picture available, the sign will just have the senior's name.

Graduates may remove the signs on Friday, May  21, so that they can be displayed in the graduate's yard during graduation weekend.

2.  The last day for seniors is Wednesday, May 19.

3.  Once senior grades are recorded, the grades are final.   Those who are not eligible to graduate will be notified by their school counselor.

4.   The Senior Awards Assembly will be on Wednesday, May 19, at 6 pm in the gym.   Seniors receiving awards are invited.   The parents (2 guests per senior) may attend.   No other guests may attend.

Seniors will sit on the visitor side bleachers. Guests will sit on the home side. All attendees, including graduates, will social distance in the bleachers.

During the assembly, scholarships winners will be announced.  Academic cord recipients also will  be recognized.  Seniors will stand when their names are announced.
After the assembly, the awards will be distributed in the cafeteria.

5.    On Thursday, May 20, we will honor the seniors during the Senior Lights Drive Through.   The light in the stadium will be on to honor the graduates.

Seniors will assemble in the parking lot by the green house beginning at 6 pm.

  Seniors are welcome to use that time to decorate their cars, to take pictures, etc.  
During  the drive through, cars will circle through the truck parking area near the stadium.    Parents are welcome to attend the event.

6.  The FFA recognition ceremony is Friday, May 21, in the gym.  Contact Mrs Grantham for details.

7.  Friday, May 21, seniors will pick up their ticket for the Sunday Grad Walk between 11 am and 1 pm.   The times for this walk will be assigned randomly.   Up to six guests and the grad will be able to participate.   

8.   Sunday, May 23, is graduation at Shepherd University.  

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Graduation masks will be distributed to seniors as a gift from the school.

Black dress pants with a collared shirt and tie or a dress or skirt and blouse are appropriate.

NO JEANS, no sneakers, work boots, or flip flops.

There is no storage available in the gym.  Bring no bags, purses or other items with you.

There is no processional.

Seniors must be seated  in their caps and gowns in their assigned seats in the gym by 12:55 pm.  Names will be posted on the chairs. Remember to bring honor cords and stoles.

Seniors will report directly to their seats which will be in alphabetical order except for the class officers, National Honor Society Members, and Career Technical Honor Society members who will be seated in the front rows.

A program and a diploma cover will be on each seat.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 1 pm.

There will be no guests in the gym. The ceremony will be live streamed.

When the graduate's name is called, he or she will stand at his or her seat to be honored.  He or she will sit down when the next graduate stands.

The cap toss will be at the end of the ceremony.

Seniors will leave the gym at the conclusion of the ceremony. 

9.    The Grad Walk, which may include up to six guests who are wearing masks, will begin after the ceremony.

Times at one of the two locations will be assigned randomly.  During the walk, seniors will cross a stage as their names are called. 

Parents may take photos.  After the walk, Myerly and Lowe will take photos which may be purchased. The diplomas will also be distributed at this time.

Seniors are NOT required to do the Grad Walk. Diplomas will be available on the following Monday at WHS for those who do not participate in the walk.
